Eglinton Residence

Moonee Ponds

A residence and studio for ones self became an ideal testing ground for ways in which to re-define a Victorian cottage to reflect a modern way of living, respecting the past whilst celebrating the present.

With a desire for greater natural light and perceived space within, the existing ground floor arrangement of constrained cell like rooms were exploded to provide greater flow and interconnection. The uninviting corridor gave way to a central atrium space rising through two levels to a light filled studio work space above.

Now flooded with natural light and a more open progression of space, this once confined dwelling exudes an air of casual grace.
